'They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself ' (Andy Warhol)
I am an counsellor and psychotherapist offering a caring and confidential service in my calm and tranquil therapy room in Chapel Allerton, just north of Leeds City Centre.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I work within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have experience of working with a wide variety of clients in the NHS, voluntary and not-for-profit sectors, and had particular experience of working in multi-cultural settings. I use an integrative model to help you work through any difficulties you may have.
I have been working in my private practice in Leeds or over 10 years and have previously working in a variety of settings, including work with the NHS, as an accredited bereavement counsellor, supervisor and trainer with Cruse Bereavement Care and as a volunteer counsellor with Solace, a counselling service for asylum seekers and refugees. I have also worked with students at the University of Leeds Student Counselling Service.
As well as my work in my private practice, I am a lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Edge Hill University. I have also worked as a tutor on the MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling at the University of Leeds and part-time lecturer at Leeds Beckett University and the University of Huddersfield on their counselling programmes. I have successfully completed a PhD in Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Leeds.
Working with teams
I have also trained as a coach and can help you to use a solution focussed approach to work towards a particular goal. This also includes coaching, facilitation and mediation with teams and groups of people, to help you to work effectively together. I can offer these services to companies and organisations where teams are struggling to maintain relationships, or after there has been a rupture in the team caused by change. I have extensive experience of working with teams in the NHS.
I have a wealth of experience working as a trainer, developing individuals and groups in a variety of ways.
I can offer supervision to experienced and trainee counsellors, including facilitation of supervision groups.
